FANS CELEBRATE DIOGO JOTA’S WOULD-BE 29TH BIRTHDAY.

The football world has come together once again in a solemn moment of remembrance as fans, teammates, and loved ones mark what would have been Diogo Jota’s 29th birthday. Liverpool FC led the tributes, posting a deeply emotional message on their official X handle to honour the late forward, whose sudden passing this year sent shockwaves across global football

Recall that Jota, alongside his brother André, tragically lost his life in a fatal car accident near Zamora, Spain, while returning from Portugal on the 3rd of July. The news devastated supporters and the wider football community, as both brothers were beloved figures known for their humility, passion, and dedication.

The club’s emotional tribute on X reads:

“Today, as every day, we remember Diogo Jota on what would have been his 29th birthday.
All of our love, thoughts and prayers continue to be with his wife Rute, his children, parents and all of his family and friends, as well as those of his brother, Andre.
Forever in our hearts, forever our number 20 ❤️”

The post sparked an outpouring of heartfelt messages across the X platform, as fans, teammates, and football lovers expressed their love, grief, and solidarity with the Jota family.

As a timeless tribute to his legacy, Liverpool FC has officially retired the number 20 shirt—a testament to his impact at the club and the void his absence has created. Supporters’ groups have likewise pledged to chant his name during home matches this season, ensuring that his voice, energy, and spirit remain alive within the walls of Anfield.
